The Wilderness Chapter 6

"Dear Blossom, where were you yesterday?" Cramps asked, staring at Blossom with his wide bulging eyes. Blossom stood her grounds as he shoved his face into her's. "I-I was playing with my friends," she mewed. Cramps nodded. "I see," he murmured. "Why?" Blossom was surprised to hear him asking why. "Because I'm always coming out to see you and I never get to see them. It's all right for me to take a break every once in a while, right?" Cramps shrugged. "I supposed," he sighed. Suddenly, there was a loud growl. A large dragon stepped out the bushes, looking angry and hungry. Blossom's eyes enlarged and she jumped behind Cramps, peeking her head behind is long legs. "W-Why is there a dragon in the forest?" she whimpered. Cramps smiled at the dragon. "Ah, hello there, dragon. How do you do?" The dragon let out a roar and began to circle Cramps. Cramps pushed Blossom away. "Cramps, he's gonna kill you!" she cried out. Cramps turned to her. "How can he kill me when I'm already dead?" he joked. The dragon finally launched at Cramps. Blossom closed her eyes and gritted her teeth, looking away as fast as she could. But she didn't hear painful shrieks. Instead she heard, what was that, laughing? Blossom slowly opened one of her eyes and saw Cramps laughing as the dragon licked his face. "What the toad!?" Blossom was clearly shocked. Cramps looked up. "Oh, Blossom, I should've told you," he began, nudging the dragon off. "This is my dragon." Blossom tilted her head. "But only the Kingdom of Claws has dragons." Cramps blinked. "Well, I have a dragon heart inside me so I am part dragon." He turned to the dragon next to him, who was wagging his tail. "Do you know why I brought him here, Blossom?" Blossom shook her head. "To scare the crap out of me?" Cramps laughed. "Exactly the opposite!" Blossom was confused. "Huh?" Cramps smiled. "I know you're afraid of dragons. I'm was trying to show you that you can befriend any creature, even a dragon." Blossom blinked. "But...dragons... they're enemies." "No Blossom, the Kingdom of Claws is. The dragons just live there and do as they are told, nothing more." Cramps nudged Blossom forward, picking up on her paws and setting it on the dragon's muzzle. Blossom was surprised how it felt. It felt...nice. "I promise you, Cramps..." she murmured. "I will never be afraid of dragons again."
